About us: an introduction to Interseroh
Pioneers in sustainability: when it comes to closing the material - product - logistics loop, Interseroh is one of the leading service providers on the market. We work with our customers throughout Europe to design intelligent, full-service solutions and products that focus on improving sustainable work of companies – to benefit the environment, the economy and society at large.
Interseroh in a nutshell: facts and figures
Since our formation in 1991, we have provided tailor-made integrated services to over 10,000 customers in all sectors of industry, with annual sales of around 739 million euros (2018). We employ a workforce of 1,791 people at 33 sites in 8 countries. Interseroh joined the ALBA Group, a global recycling specialist and raw materials supplier, in 2008. Together, we concentrate our recycling know-how for the shared vision of a future without waste.
The Interseroh business model rests on these four pillars:
ReDuce – To prevent waste, we employ sophisticated multi-use systems and pooling solutions that optimise our customers’ logistic processes while simultaneously cutting costs.
ReUse – We extend the lifespans of our products by creating highly efficient systems for returning, sorting and reusing recyclable materials.
ReCycle– Once all the possibilities for waste prevention and reduction have been exhausted, we focus on recycling. We develop modern solutions for closed-loop management and produce high-quality recycled materials.
ReThink – Consulting creates trust: we analyse, assess and optimise our customers’ business processes with sustainability in mind – whether the task is waste volume, material flows or logistical and infrastructural processes.

2018: For the 11th time running, a study carried out by the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT has shown the positive effects of managing recyclable materials in a closed loop. Since 2018, companies have also been able to optimise the recyclability of their packaging by applying the new scientifically based "Made for Recycling" method. The year 2018 also saw the establishment of SIMPLi RETURN GmbH – a joint venture of Interseroh and Saubermacher AG that offers the first take-back and recycling system for lithium-ion batteries.
Interseroh is also expanding its range of services internationally and now provides its environmental services in Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Italy.
